James Barta is a retired college administrator of Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas. He began his hand-thrown pottery 30 years ago. He is know for the simple sophistication of his glazes and the fluid design of his art pieces.

 

James is an active member of the Wimberley Valley Art League and New Braunfels Art League. He resides in Wimberley with his wife, local artist, Rosemary Barta.
